Our Recent AVL Projects
FROM INITIAL CONCEPTS
TO REAL PROJECTS
Grace on the Hill - Corbin, KY
- Lighting and LED Upgrade in a Space With Architectural Wood Ceilings
- Clean 1:1 Fixture Swap Without Cutting Into the Ceiling
- LED “Banner” Screens Creating a Dynamic Stage Backdrop
- Q-SYS Control System Simplifying Operation for Volunteers
Grace on the Hill partnered with Front Porch Media to upgrade their lighting and integrate LED screen elements while preserving the character of their traditional worship space. Maintaining the integrity of the room was a top priority, so the system was designed for a clean one-for-one fixture replacement with no structural modifications required.
As part of the upgrade, new stage lighting was introduced to provide even coverage and rich, consistent color across the platform—enhancing both the in-room experience and how services translate on camera.
Multiple RubyLED screens were strategically placed across the stage to create a dynamic, visually engaging backdrop that enhances the overall environment. Rather than relying on a single large display, this multi-screen approach provides greater flexibility in content presentation and translates well both in the room and on camera.
System control was built around a Q-SYS platform, giving volunteers the ability to manage lighting and LED elements through a simple, intuitive interface—while still allowing full control for more production-driven events when needed.
Heart & Soul Church - Knoxville, TN
- Converting a Former Call Center Into a Worship Space
- Transition From Portable Church to a Permanent Facility
- Integrated Existing Gear From Their Portable Setup
- Reliable Audio and Lighting Solutions Within Budget
This project was part of a full renovation for Refuge Church in Missouri. The room had some challenges — low ceilings, uneven ceiling height, and a lot of natural light —
so we had to design the AVL system in a way that worked with the architecture instead of fighting it.
While we were still in the quoting phase, we created detailed renderings so the church could clearly see how the technology and the room would come together.
Christway Church - Ooltewah, TN
- Upgrading an older PA and audio system
- New consoles for mixing both in the room and online
- Training with volunteers to ensure consistent execution
Christway Church approached Front Porch Media with the need to replace an aging audio and PA system that was no longer keeping up with their in-room and broadcast needs. With services led by volunteers, it was critical that any new system be both high-performing and easy to operate.
Rather than simply replacing equipment, Front Porch Media designed a solution around how the church actually functions week to week. Using detailed 3D audio modeling, the team mapped out system performance in advance—ensuring proper coverage, clarity, and consistency before installation began.
The final system was built to support both front-of-house and broadcast audio, delivering a clear experience in the room while providing a clean, controlled mix for online viewers. Just as importantly, it was designed with simplicity in mind, giving volunteers the confidence to run the system effectively.
The results were immediate—improved intelligibility, even coverage, and a noticeable upgrade in overall sound quality. Front Porch Media continued to support Christway Church after installation, ensuring the system remained dialed in and ready for every service.
Refuge Church - Independence, MO
- Full AVL Integration for a Major Sanctuary Renovation
- Designed Around Low Ceilings, Uneven Height, and Natural Light
- Renderings Created During the Quoting Phase for Design Clarity
- Volunteer-Friendly Systems Supporting Weekly Services and Broadcast
This project was part of a full renovation for Refuge Church in Missouri. The room had some challenges — low ceilings, uneven ceiling height, and a lot of natural light —
so we had to design the AVL system in a way that worked with the architecture instead of fighting it.
While we were still in the quoting phase, we created detailed renderings so the church could clearly see how the technology and the room would come together.
The final system included a Fulcrum audio system, LED screen, lighting, broadcast, and audio for the lobby areas. The end result was a completely transformed space
with systems that volunteers can run confidently every week.
